Shafiq Aziz is thirty years old and he is British.
Lisa O‘Brian, a reporter, is interviewing him.
Rep.: Have you got your own family?
Sha.: No, I‘m single and I don‘t have any children or pets.
Rep.: Where‘s your home?
Sha.: Manchester, England. I‘ve lived here for my whole life.
Rep.: Where in Manchester do you live?
Sha.: I live in a one-room flat, not far from the centre of Manchester. Most people in my neighbour-
hood live in detached or terraced houses, not flats.
Rep.: What about your job?
Sha.: I‘m a hypnotist

and a singer. I sing jazz, soul and Indian music. I think I got into this work
because of my family. My grandfather‘s family came from India and my grandmother was from
Karachi, Pakistan. So I learned to like Indian soul music through my family. And I took a few
courses to learn hypnotism and I trained myself. I give stage shows

everywhere in Britain
and I‘m quite well-known within British and Asian families.
Rep.: You‘ve got lots of work. Have you got any time for making holidays?
Sha.: Well, I take a two-week holiday a year. The best holiday I ever had was in 1995, when I went
to Saudi Arabia. The next place I want to visit is Mexico. I hope to get there next year.
Rep.: Tell our readers about your hobbies and interests.
Sha.: I regularly go swimming and jogging, and I also play squash and hockey. I like listening to
Indian and Pakistani music and I like collecting paintings.
